QL Spectribution screen
J. Waterman - 17 December 2020

I was updating Spectribution to divide the "My Programs" section into three pages (Spectrum, ZX81/80 and anything else), and thought I should make an "anything else" icon using the QL. There's nothing that I know of that's similar to BMP2SCR for the QL, so I had to draw everything myself - the Q, the L, the Sinclair logos... and the text at the bottom. It took long enough that I thought I should release the program.

The way the Sinclair logo is drawn - with lots of individual squares to keep it as consistent as possible despite the QL's oddly-shaped pixels - means the program is VERY SLOW. On an unregistered copy of QemuLator (and hence, on a real QL) it will take a massive 16 minutes and 19 seconds!

Fortunately, I've registered my copy of QemuLator and now have access to the Gold Card setting, which will accelerate this program to be complete in 2 minutes, 55 seconds. But if that's *still* too long to wait, it takes around four seconds with QemuLator set to Full Speed.

LRUN QLSC_BAS from the microdrive image or the raw text file.
